PNN – Results of a joint poll conducted by CBS News and YouGov indicate that the majority of Americans believe a criminal war by the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran would prove more difficult than U.S. President Donald Trump anticipated.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the survey reveals that Americans believe the Trump administration is not being transparent with them regarding events unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz.
The poll results also revealed that, in the view of most Americans, there are many significant objectives the United States could pursue in this aggression; yet, they simultaneously believe the conflict is not going well. Consequently, the majority of Americans (58%) are uncertain about the outcome of this criminal war, and most (57%) are pessimistic about it.
According to the survey findings, a significant majority of Americans (76%) believe the conflict with Iran has proven more difficult than the Trump administration anticipated.
The poll results also revealed that 37 percent of Americans believe the conflict will last for months, 21 percent believe it will last for years, and 33 percent are uncertain about its duration.
According to the findings, a majority of Americans (67 percent) believe the United States should immediately halt its aggressive attacks against Iran; however, the survey also showed that an overwhelming majority of young Americans (83 percent) want an immediate end to the conflict.
The poll results also revealed that 60 percent of Americans believe Trump is trying to portray the U.S. position in this conflict as better than it actually is, while 69 percent have no clear understanding of the events unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the survey, 61 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s overall performance as U.S. President, and 65 percent are dissatisfied with his handling of the situation regarding Iran.
The poll was conducted between July 22 and 24, involving 2,193 American adults, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percent.
