PNN – The Russian President, while praising the courage and resilience of the Iranian people in the face of aggression by the US and the Zionist regime, expressed hope that sanctions against Iran would be lifted.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing RIA Novosti; Russian President Vladimir Putin noted at the annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club that Moscow’s proposal to transfer Iran’s enriched uranium to Russia remains on the table.
Stating that the entire world has been amazed by the courage, valor, and steadfastness of the Iranian people, he added: We hope the Strait of Hormuz remains open and sanctions against Iran are lifted.
The Russian President, describing the assassination of Ali Larijani—Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council—as a catastrophic mistake, stated: Larijani was always prepared to seek solutions that would secure the interests of the Iranian nation.
Noting the political approach of the martyred Larijani, Putin characterized him as a positive and influential figure.
Regarding tensions with the West, the Russian President stated that military exercises by Baltic European nations and attempts to seize Russian ships have served to escalate tensions.
Putin also warned against Western efforts to blockade the Kaliningrad region in the Baltic area, noting that the Foreign Ministry’s statement regarding the potential use of nuclear weapons to defend Kaliningrad is not a threat, but rather a response to attempts to threaten Russia.
He added: If the situation escalates to a direct attack on Russia, the immediate use of all available weaponry will become inevitable. In the event of an attack, Russia would be compelled to leverage its competitive advantages.
The Russian President warned European governments regarding the provision of arms to Ukraine, stating: We have warned that if the conflict escalates, the factories manufacturing weapons for Ukraine will become targets.
