PNN – The former US national security adviser Susan Rice, while calling his country’s war against Iran a “strategic mistake”, claimed that the United States had given Iran many concessions.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Susan Rice, former US National Security Advisor and a Democratic figure, claimed in an exclusive interview with ABC News on Sunday evening: This is a very serious issue, because many concessions have already been given to Iran in the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington that should not have been given under normal circumstances.
Rice, who served in the administration of former US President Barack Obama, criticized the approach and policies of US President Donald Trump, saying that the country’s war against Iran was a “strategic mistake.”
He added: I oppose this war because it was a stupid war and it was clear that when you start a stupid war that every previous president had the wisdom to avoid, you end up with either bad results or worse results. It has been clear for decades that the only solution to this problem is through diplomacy and now we have returned to diplomacy with a much weaker hand. Iran has now understood that it can use the Strait of Hormuz whenever it wants.
Referring to the consequences of the joint US-Zionist war against Iran, Susan Rice said: We have suffered enormously. The American people have suffered. We have lost 13 servicemen and women. We have paid over $50 billion in taxpayer money for a war that we should never have started. The American consumer is paying over $50 billion in increased costs. Our place in the world has been weakened.
Rice said of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s belligerent approach and his precarious position: He tried to convince many previous presidents to go to war with Israel against Iran. Trump was the first to take the bait, but now Israel is in a worse position.
The former US national security adviser concluded: What we have achieved as a result of the war is to strengthen Iran’s geopolitical position in the region. Also, its nuclear program remains completely intact and there is nothing in that agreement that requires the removal of nuclear materials from Iran. And ultimately, the Israelis have suffered the most.
While indirect talks with the American side were ongoing, the US and the Zionist regime launched an aggression against Iran, and Iran, in response to the aggression against the country’s territory and in self-defense, carried out Operation True Promise 4, targeting American bases in the region and specific targets in the occupied territories. Iran and the US finally reached an understanding to end the war after a hundred days, although this understanding has an uncertain fate due to the US’s lack of seriousness in implementing all of its clauses and the Zionist regime’s continued attacks on Lebanon.
