PNN – In a report, The New Yorker magazine, while calling any possible agreement “humiliating” for Trump, emphasized that maximum pressure policies against Tehran have failed and that Washington has no strategic options against Iran’s defense readiness.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; The New Yorker published a report on Monday evening, after a phone call with Danny Citrinovich, a non-resident fellow at the Atlantic Council and an expert on West Asian issues, in which he discussed the war between the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran.
The American publication initially wrote, referring to US President Donald Trump’s repeated retreat and capitulation to Iran: Trump had to choose between a bad option and a worse option, and although we don’t know what will happen in any deal, or whether there will be any at all, he apparently chose a very bad option, but it is still the best option he had! What we are now facing is that America’s war against Iran is a strategic failure and any possible agreement with Iran would be humiliating for the US government.
The New Yorker continued: Trump is tired of the current situation and also fears an escalation. He could escalate tensions tomorrow; he may be beginning to understand that even an escalation will not change the strategic situation because the Iranians will not surrender. A blockade will not do it, targeting energy facilities will not do it, and nothing else will do it, and the Iranian side is not only in control of the situation, but also ready to retaliate. So Trump has no other option but this deal.
This American media outlet reported, focusing on the miscalculations of Donald Trump and his close associates: Trump had no strategy, no plan, nothing. He had no proper experts. Instead, there were people who said, you can do this, you can do that, and they lied to Trump. Look at the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. How pathetic is his blockade?! You don’t know the Iranians because it was clear that Trump’s move wouldn’t work.
The New Yorker also pointed out the problems facing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the war against Iran, writing: I can tell you that Iran will not give up on the Lebanon issue, and this is a big problem for Netanyahu. Hezbollah has proven to be a vital element of the Iranian resistance axis. So Lebanon is of real strategic importance to Iran, and one of the greatest achievements that Iran had during the war was to link these two issues. Also, this is a collapse of the Israeli doctrine on Iran. Not just a shameful failure, but a collapse!
This American publication once again criticized Trump’s actions, this time referring to the JCPOA agreement and the US withdrawal from it, writing: The withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal was one of the biggest strategic mistakes of the 21st century. It was not an optimal deal, but it had certain advantages, and the worst thing was that the United States actually withdrew from the deal without any counter-strategy, and Iran has learned a lot since the United States withdrew from the deal, especially on enrichment.
