PNN – The US Department of War (the Pentagon) has raised the reported death toll of its military personnel who invaded Iranian territory, releasing the figures in a piecemeal fashion.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing The Washington Post, the Pentagon—by releasing casualty figures for its invading troops in a trickle—acknowledged that the number of its personnel killed is higher than previously reported.

As reported by the outlet, the Pentagon updated its official figures by adding two more fatalities to the count.

New Pentagon figures reveal that 21 U.S. military personnel were killed and 865 wounded following the country’s incursion into Iranian territory.

This comes as U.S. media acknowledge that the government—with congressional midterm elections fast approaching—is refraining from releasing accurate statistics regarding its military casualties sustained during Iran’s retaliatory strikes.
