PNN – A US official, while acknowledging the capture of a US military underwater drone by Iran, attempted to downplay the significance of the event.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; a US official confirmed an incident involving one of the US military’s autonomous underwater vehicles in the West Asia region, claiming it had suffered a technical malfunction.
In an effort to minimize the importance of the recent incident, the official claimed that the vessel was an older model and was not equipped with classified sonar technology.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the US Central Command (CENTCOM) spoke to Al Jazeera, making new claims regarding Iran’s capture of a US underwater vessel.
While confirming the loss of one of the US military’s underwater vessels in regional waters, the spokesperson—in a ludicrous claim intended to downplay the significance of the IRGC Navy’s action—asserted that the vessel had suffered a technical malfunction and become inoperable during a mission the previous day.
The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in a statement an hour ago that, by the special grace of Almighty God, its forces captured one of the US terrorist military’s most modern, smart, unmanned underwater vehicles at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz at dawn today, following a complex operation involving advanced intelligence and operational surveillance.
This smart underwater vessel incorporates the world’s latest sub-surface technology and was delivered to the US terrorist military’s fleet in 2025.
The IRGC’s success in capturing this advanced American underwater vessel has drawn widespread attention in global media.
