PNN – A Hebrew media outlet has reported that the Israeli military is recruiting personnel from Arab countries.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the Hebrew-language news site Kippa reported that, as of August 2026, hundreds of young people of Yemeni, Emirati, and Moroccan descent are serving in the Israeli army.
According to this Hebrew-language media outlet, among the thousands of individuals joining the military during this period, there is a presence of personnel from unusual origins—specifically Arab and Islamic nations—whose participation in the Israeli army has historically been rare.
The outlet reported that, under this initiative, 392 new immigrants from Yemen, the UAE, Morocco, Iraq, and several other countries are set to enlist in the Israeli military; this group comprises 246 men and 146 women.
It is worth noting that these individuals are typically assigned to military intelligence units—specifically for espionage and eavesdropping—where their familiarity with their countries of origin is leveraged to gather further intelligence on those nations.
