PNN – The U.S. Secret Service has suspended three officials following an investigation into the potential unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the U.S. Secret Service has temporarily suspended three officials—including Communications Director Anthony Guglielmi—amid an investigation into the possible leaking of sensitive information and related misconduct.
As reported by the New York Post, all three officials worked in the Secret Service’s communications office, and their security clearances have been revoked. The investigation is being conducted by the agency’s Office of Professional Responsibility.
A U.S. Secret Service spokesperson told the New York Post that the three employees—who are not in law enforcement roles—have been placed on mandatory administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The spokesperson added that the agency cannot currently provide further details regarding the case.
It remains unclear exactly what information is the subject of the investigation. However, the case has emerged at a time when the White House is furious over the disclosure of sensitive security information regarding U.S. President Donald Trump.
One of the leaked details concerns Trump’s departure from Turkey following a NATO summit, prompted by fears of assassination. According to reports, due to security concerns stemming from threats posed by Iran, Trump did not use the new aircraft gifted to him by Qatar to leave the country; instead, he secretly exited that plane and returned to the United States on a different aircraft.
Last month, information also emerged regarding security concerns surrounding this new aircraft. One of the cited concerns was the absence of advanced missile defense systems—an issue that sparked outrage at the White House.
That same month, a Secret Service agent assigned to protect U.S. Vice President JD Vance was placed on administrative leave over allegations of leaking sensitive information to the media.
Anthony Guglielmi, the Secret Service’s communications director, also served during one of the agency’s most turbulent periods. He was in charge of communications in the wake of the July 2024 assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania—an incident in which a bullet struck Trump’s ear.
Following this assassination attempt and several other security incidents, the U.S. Secret Service has faced widespread criticism and investigations regarding its performance in protecting Trump.
