PNN – The Bahraini regime began the trial of several prominent Shiite clerics today at the country’s High Criminal Court.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; citing Al-Ahed, the ruling regime in Bahrain initiated the trial proceedings for a group of prominent Shiite clerics today, following the referral of their cases to the High Criminal Court.

Bahraini media sources report that the trial involves not only clerics currently held in the regime’s prisons but also a number of clerics residing outside the country.

These trials—which are sectarian in nature rather than judicial—involve a group of Shiite clerics, and the first hearing is scheduled to be held today, Sunday, at the High Criminal Court.
