PNN – The US President once again claimed that a deal with Iran is near.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; US President Donald Trump—by sharing a report published last Sunday by the website Breitbart regarding a message he posted on the social media platform “Truth Social”—once again asserted that talks with Iran are underway and a deal is close at hand.
Last Sunday, Trump had claimed that talks with Iran regarding the nuclear program and the Strait of Hormuz would begin on Monday, and a deal is near.
Despite repeated claims by the U.S. President, senior Iranian officials have emphasized that no talks are currently underway with the U.S. administration on any matter; Tehran is negotiating solely with Oman regarding the transit of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier, CBS News also cited U.S. officials in refuting Donald Trump’s claim regarding consultations between Washington and Tehran.
According to the network, U.S. officials stated that, contrary to Trump’s assertion, no new negotiations with Iran have been scheduled, and communications are continuing through intermediaries.
