PNN – US President Donald Trump dismissed published reports regarding the country’s ammunition shortages and threatened “whistleblowers behind these treasonous statements” with imprisonment.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; US President Donald Trump claimed in a Truth Social post: The United States possesses vast quantities of ammunition, particularly of certain specific types. Furthermore, large amounts are currently being manufactured and—if needed—shipped to the US. Defense companies are building the highest number of factories and production facilities in our country’s history.
He threatened that those who leaked these treasonous remarks would be prosecuted and that long prison sentences would be sought for them.
The Washington Post had reported that last Friday, during a cabinet meeting at the presidential retreat at Camp David, Trump demanded an explanation from U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth regarding ammunition shortages.
The Washington Post added that Hegseth was one of the most prominent advocates of military action against Iran within the U.S. administration and had convinced Trump that such an operation would result in a “quick and relatively easy victory.”
The newspaper added that Trump’s frustration grew as military operations continued and challenges emerged on the ground—particularly concerns regarding the depletion of U.S. ammunition stockpiles, which sparked internal administration tensions over war management.
CNN also reported that shortages of long-range guided missiles and air defense interceptors had influenced Donald Trump’s policy regarding the war with Iran, noting that the U.S. military had exhausted nearly 80 percent of its THAAD missile inventory.
