I am deeply disappointed with NATO; the only reason I attended today’s NATO summit is that it is being held in Turkey, out of regard for Erdoğan. We received a commitment regarding the purchase of five F-35 fighter jets. I have no concerns whatsoever about Turkey acquiring F-35s. Our relations with the country are excellent. Turkey is a tremendous ally to us. Turkey has purchased American aircraft, and I believe we are obligated to maintain their engines.
