PNN – After the country failed to achieve its stated goals, including regime change, the US Vice President claimed that the US never sought to bring Reza Pahlavi back to power.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, US Vice President J.D. Vance, in his new stance, while defending the path of negotiations with Tehran, emphasized that the current US administration seeks to achieve tangible results through dialogue.

He stated in this regard: President Trump and I do not view direct negotiations with Iran as a ‘reward’; rather, we view it as a serious step and a purposeful approach to achieving results.

The US Vice President also announced his presence at the Geneva talks, stating: Just as I was present at the Pakistan talks, I will also be present at the Geneva talks to personally ascertain the intentions of the Iranian side and their seriousness in pursuing the talks.

He concluded by noting: Washington will remain committed to active participation in the talks with Iran and will make every effort to achieve positive results that serve the interests of the American people.

We never sought to bring Reza Pahlavi back to power

Vance said in an interview with the online television program “Megin Kelly”: The administration is well aware of the risk of being caught in long-term conflicts in the region and does not intend to enter into a war of attrition and endless. From the very beginning, the United States was not going to enter the quagmire that many were warning about.

Vance claimed: If Tehran adheres to the agreement, the ground will be prepared for economic reconstruction with the support of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf (not the United States).

In response to a question about the recent criticism of Trump by the monarchists and the understanding with Iran, Trump’s deputy also said: The Trump administration has never stated its goal of bringing Reza Pahlavi to power or creating a new government in Iran.

Vance added: Issues related to the political structure of Iran are an issue that must be resolved between the Iranian people and the government of this country. What is important to the United States is that Iran’s nuclear program be stopped.

He continued: There are people right now who are saying we should send ground troops to Iran. They want Donald Trump to send hundreds of thousands of troops into Iran. We need people from within this movement to resist and oppose this view.

The US vice president claimed that the country would not pay Iran any money under any circumstances.

Vance, stating that the understanding with Iran also includes Lebanon, claimed: We have fundamentally changed the Middle East, whether Iran complies or not.

Trump’s deputy said: If Iran does not implement the terms of the agreement, its nuclear, military and missile programs will remain dismantled and halted.

Vance also claimed: The Iranians will gain nothing without a fundamental change in their behavior.
