PNN – Following deceptive operations targeting commercial vessels and the instigation of conflict in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. claimed to have forced nine commercial ships to alter their course and halted one vessel from proceeding.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)—an aggressive military command designated as a terrorist organization—claimed on Wednesday that sailors aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy were overseeing operations related to enforcing a maritime blockade against Iran from the ship’s combat information center.
The U.S. military entity further announced that, as of July 22, U.S. forces had compelled nine commercial vessels to change course and stopped one vessel from continuing its journey as part of the full implementation of this blockade.
Following allegations of attacks on several vessels passing south of the Strait of Hormuz, the United States—in violation of the Islamabad Memorandum—has once again resumed not only aggressive attacks against Iran but also a naval blockade, effective from 23:30 on July 14, 2026.
Prior to this new round of the blockade, CNN reported—citing military officials—that military forces had faced numerous challenges during the implementation of the previous blockade against Iran.
CNN added that, as part of the blockade efforts, the U.S. military utilized fighter jets—aircraft not originally designed for maritime patrol—to track vessels and, if necessary, engage them with weaponry.
Resuming the blockade also intensifies the heavy strain already placed on U.S. destroyers, which must simultaneously track and take action against violating vessels and protect the 20,000 sailors deployed at sea.
U.S. officials also noted that the Arabian Sea is a vast body of water, making it extremely difficult to ensure that no oil tankers pass through it.
