The Western media outlet claimed that Saudi Arabia initially refused to allow U.S. forces to use its bases for an attack on Iran.
According to this media outlet, this dispute apparently prompted the White House to threaten to halt the shipment of air defense interceptors to Saudi Arabia.
The Wall Street Journal added that Riyadh also viewed Marco Rubio’s recent trip to the Persian Gulf—which bypassed Saudi Arabia—as an “insult.”
