PNN – An Israeli website Walla News has reported that the regime’s military is at an “operational breaking point” regarding its readiness for a potential war with Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Amir Bohbot—a military correspondent for the Hebrew-language news and analysis outlet Walla!—stated in a report that the Israeli military is suffering from a significant shortfall in the procurement of weapons and ammunition.
Israeli Air Force officers have expressed complaints regarding delays in the acquisition of critical military assets, including aerial refueling tankers and transport helicopters. Meanwhile, a shortage of weaponry and advanced military technology has further widened gaps in the Israeli military’s operational capabilities.
The report from this Zionist website continues: Air Force officers have stated that across-the-board cuts to government ministry budgets will not, by themselves, solve all the problems. We must reduce bureaucracy and ensure the actual funding of the massive security budget approved by the government.
An official familiar with the details of the procurement deals remarked: The damage has already been done. This damage is manifesting as operational gaps, and it is not limited solely to the Air Force.
These officers stated that the most critical items currently on the Air Force’s agenda are the acquisition of two additional aerial refueling aircraft—the seventh and eighth in the fleet. Following years of delays and stalling, a decision was made to modernize the refueling fleet through the purchase of Boeing KC-46 “Pegasus” aircraft—a move that will extend the operational range of the Israeli military’s fighter jets.
The Air Force officers emphasized that any delay in the procurement process would postpone the entry of these aircraft into service by several years.
Another requirement announced by the Israeli Air Force is the procurement of 12 to 18 “Wild” helicopters, intended to replace the aging “Yas’ur” (CH-53) fleet. Israeli officers claim that these new helicopters are expected to extend the operational reach of the Israeli military and enhance its capacity to transport combat troops and military equipment.
Furthermore, senior defense industry officials have warned of shortages in ammunition and missiles within the Israeli military, emphasizing that agreements must be reached to accelerate production and expand manufacturing facilities within Israel.
Senior Israeli military officials have warned about a shortage of advanced weaponry for the naval and air forces.
According to Walla News, there is another gap—often overlooked yet of immense significance—concerning the technologies required for the new data division within the Military Intelligence Directorate. This encompasses the maintenance of legacy systems, as well as the critical technologies and infrastructure of the ICT sector (which remains highly vulnerable to cyber-attacks)—a domain that is advancing rapidly in the digital landscape. Advancing these projects requires additional funding; the General Staff acknowledged this necessity over a year ago and has reportedly placed plans aimed at supporting an “artificial intelligence revolution” on its agenda.
