PNN – Yemenis held a rally near Sana’a International Airport to express their appreciation for Iran’s courageous move to break the blockade of the airport.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; citing Al-Masirah, the people of Yemen gathered near Sana’a International Airport to declare their support for the country’s army and to commend the Islamic Republic of Iran for breaking the blockade of the airport.
They called for the enforcement of a policy to lift the blockade on Sana’a Airport.
In a statement issued during the rally, participants emphasized: We call upon the Yemeni armed forces to implement this equation—following the lifting of the blockade—in light of Iran’s courageous move. We want flights at this airport to continue.
Two days ago, Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, announced that Saudi enemy warplanes had violated Yemeni airspace at 5:20 a.m. and attempted to prevent an Iranian civilian aircraft from landing at Sana’a International Airport. The Iranian civilian plane was carrying more than 200 stranded citizens, as well as the wounded and the sick.
He added: The Saudi enemy’s attempt to prevent the landing of an Iranian civilian aircraft failed, thanks to God and the interception and countermeasures by Yemeni armed forces. By God’s will, we targeted the Saudi enemy aircraft with air-defense missiles and forced them to leave Yemeni airspace.
Yahya Saree emphasized: We appreciate and express our gratitude for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s initiative to break the blockade and transport patients, as well as the official and public delegations participating in the funeral ceremony of the martyr Sayyid Ali Khamenei. We affirm the continuation of flights between the airports of Sana’a and Tehran, with God’s help.
