The Guardian’s account of the nightmare of Gaza residents/ Peace is not possible by violating the rights of Palestinians

PNN – The Guardian narrated the daily nightmare of the residents of Gaza and wrote: This situation will continue as long as there is no understanding that peace and stability in this region is not possible without taking into account the rights of the Palestinians.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, “Nasrin Malik”, the writer of the Guardian, on the occasion of the anniversary of Al-Aqsa storm, the attack of Hamas resistance on Zionist positions on October 7, 2023, added: A year ago, on this day, the Zionist (regime) started killing civilians. This was the starting point again for the deterioration of the situation in Gaza, the occupation and illegal settlements, which have turned more violent.

While the world’s attention has been on Gaza, then on Lebanon, and the deterioration of the situation between Iran and (the regime) in the past week, Israeli authorities and settlers have started attacks on Palestinians with a new license under the pretext of war.

Echoes of “Al-Aqsa storm” in East Asia; The Palestinian crisis remains a critical issue

The author notes that it seems that just writing about this is not enough, and it is a little effort to describe a reality that is nothing short of living in a nightmare. He describes the violence against Palestinians as so great that throughout this article he emphasizes to his readers that “I wish you could see it too.”

He notes that in parts of the old city of Hebron, its old streets and markets have been empty and buildings have collapsed, and roads have been closed to Palestinians since before the October 7 attacks, and they are not allowed to travel on the roads while the residents of the settlement have such a possibility. Israeli soldiers protect the settlement at checkpoints and through observation towers. Even more traders left the area last year, and the new stalls they set up are empty. Buyers are afraid of weapons and Israeli soldiers. Fear and expulsion force people to evacuate and occupying forces expand there.

The author added: I wish you could see the old Palestinian man in Silwan neighborhood, east of Jerusalem, who lives next to the ruins of the house where he was born. In February, his house was demolished by Israeli authorities under the pretext of not having a “building permit”. A bulldozer arrived with a unit of rescue dogs and armed officers to pull his elderly wife out from under the rubble. He asked them to take out only one photo he had with his mother, but the Israelis broke it in front of him. 37 houses have been destroyed in this area since October 7. When the owners of the house leave, the settlers, now growing in number in Sylvan, move in.

In a part of his writing, referring to the violent efforts for ethnic cleansing, he wrote: I wish you could see the living conditions of the people. In the West Bank, the population has almost doubled in the past year and has reached 10,000 people, of whom about 250 are children. One third of those imprisoned in this area are under “administrative detention”; A sentence that can be extended indefinitely without charges or legal representation or family visits. The Israeli regime attacks the crossings and roads without prior announcement or any explanation and prevents the movement of people in the occupied territories.

In the midst of all this suffering, millions of Palestinians are still miraculously alive and the pressure on them continues. The existing tools for global action, including journalism, protests, repression and expressions of outrage, cannot end the disaster or even depict its severity. This tragedy did not begin with the October 7 attack and will not end.
