The Pakistani court delayed the final verdict against Imran Khan

PNN – The Court of Accounts of Pakistan, which was supposed to issue the final decision regarding the corruption case against “Imran Khan” and his wife today (Monday), postponed this decision for another four days.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Pakistan National Television, Judge Nasser Javed Rana, the chairman of the Accounts Court session, was supposed to announce the final verdict on the corruption case against the former prime minister and his wife inside the Rawalpindi prison where Imran Khan has been imprisoned since the summer of 2023.

The 190 million pound corruption case is part of the accusations that Imran Khan, during his prime ministership, received this money without going through legal procedures for the benefit of a rich Pakistani businessman and violated the laws of the country by doing so.

The court judge announced that due to the absence of the main defendants in the case, the verdict was postponed for another four days (Friday, January 17). This is the third time that the final verdict in the financial scandal case of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan has been delayed.

In the middle of last year, Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Begum were sentenced to 14 years in prison in the same case, although the Islamabad High Court suspended this sentence and ordered the release of the former prime minister on bail.

Imran Khan and his party (Pakistan Justice Movement) consider the nature of all judicial and security cases against him and other members of this party to be political and accuse the government of taking revenge on the opposition.

Imran Khan, who held the position of prime minister since the summer, has been in prison since the summer of last year due to accusations in numerous cases of financial, political and security corruption.
