Two unnamed US government officials also said that negotiations are still in the early stages, but the Biden administration is looking to remove the group from the terrorist list in the near future.
Officials added that the removal of the Tahrir al-Sham delegation from the list of terrorist groups with historical ties to al-Qaeda includes the cancellation of a $10 million reward for the group’s commander, Mohammad al-Jolani.
