America’s fateful day has arrived; assessing the possibility of rebellion and civil war.
Finally, after months of campaigning, the US presidential election is here today, Tuesday, November 5th. The people of this country will go to the polls to choose between Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump to determine who will occupy the White House for the next four years.
In the meantime, however, some serious concerns are visible from the people and officials of this country; concerns that are directly related to the previous elections and the domestic riots in the US that were instigated by Trump at the time.
Concerns about a repeat of the January 6th riots if Trump loses
Although the winner of the US presidential election is usually announced by the mainstream media that analyzes the vote count, the possibility that Trump will unusually declare victory early is very high.
A senior Harris campaign official told reporters during a press conference ahead of the election that it was fully expected that Trump would declare victory on election day, before all the votes had been counted. Trump has done this before before losing.
He was referring to the events following the 2020 US election. At that time, Trump declared himself the winner in the early hours of the morning after Election Day, three days before the initial announcement of the winner by television networks.
Subsequently, on January 6, 2021, a group of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol to protest the certification of the results of the 2020 presidential election, and some were able to enter the building. During these protests, US lawmakers fled, and five people, including a police officer, were killed during the riot.
