Burrell: The severity of Israel’s attacks against Lebanon is unusual

PNN – The head of the European Union’s foreign policy Josep Burrell, expressing concern about the rising level of tensions in the West Asian region and emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire, warned that the severity of Israel’s (regime) attacks in Lebanon is unusual.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Josep Burrell said in a speech in the European Parliament: After the exchange of fire along the blue line (the border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine), Israel heavily bombards Lebanon, the intensity of the attacks is unusual, and according to statistics, almost 20% of the Lebanese population has been displaced.

He added: About 150,000 Lebanese fled to Syria and 2,000 civilians were killed.

Expressing concern about the consequences of the continuation of the conflicts, the head of the European Union’s foreign policy stated: Achieving a ceasefire through diplomatic procedures is a necessity.

Burrell further pointed to the history of the Zionist regime’s attacks against Lebanon and said: After each attack, Israel should ask itself whether its security has increased or it has suffered a strategic failure. Many in Israel (Occupied Palestine) believe that these measures have not made Israel safer and, on the contrary, have destabilized the northern borders and led to the strengthening of Hezbollah.

Stating that there is no military solution to the conflicts in the region, he emphasized the need to stop the conflicts and establish an immediate ceasefire between the Zionist regime and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

The Zionist army started large-scale attacks on various areas of southern Lebanon, which continues to this moment. According to the report of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the attacks of this regime have left hundreds of martyrs and thousands of wounded.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah did not remain silent in the face of civilians being targeted in this country; He put numerous operations against Zionist positions and settlements in the north of occupied Palestine on the agenda, and during the past days and hours, by launching hundreds of rockets, he rained rockets on the positions of the Zionist regime.

Western countries, which have been silent about the crimes of the Zionist regime since the beginning of the war against Gaza, have limited themselves to expressing concern about the aggressive actions of this regime in Lebanon and asking for a ceasefire.
