CENTCOM warns of US ground attack scenario on Iran

CENTCOM

PNN – The former CENTCOM commander warned of the consequences of any US ground operation against Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying such an action would be accompanied by significant casualties and high risks. He also said that the strategy of assassinating Iranian commanders cannot solve Washington’s crises towards Iran.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; General David Petraeus, former commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) and one of the main architects of the occupation of Iraq, has warned in clear statements about the catastrophic consequences of any ground military action by Washington against Iran’s nuclear facilities and admitted that the strategy of assassinating Iranian military commanders will not solve any of Washington’s crises.

Petraeus, who has a history of commanding American aggressive forces in the Middle East, called the scenario of sending ground forces to seize the Islamic Republic of Iran’s enriched uranium reserves a “very risky and costly” action in an interview with Fox News, and confirmed the difficulty of the Pentagon’s military calculations against Iran’s deterrent capabilities.

The mystery of the impenetrability of Iran’s nuclear facilities

In part of his remarks, this retired US Army general referred to the inability of Western intelligence services to accurately identify the location of Iran’s nuclear materials and said: We don’t even know for sure where the containers containing the thousand pounds of 60 percent uranium are. Getting to them would require a massive excavation operation. That alone makes the idea of an imposed ground operation an incredibly difficult challenge.

Acknowledging the depth of impenetrability and fortifications of Iran’s defense infrastructure, he described the casualties of American forces in the event of such a conflict as “very significant.”

The failure of the terror strategy:

Petraeus went on to explicitly assess the US government’s terrorist approach against the leaders of the Resistance Front and Iranian officials as fruitless, saying: Assassinating a few more leaders will not bring this case to a close.

US Failure to Defeat Iran

As a fragile two-week ceasefire between Iran and the US expires on Wednesday, Petraeus admitted that even economic pressure and a naval blockade imposed by the US have failed to bring the Islamic Republic of Iran to a point of “distress”.

Referring to the damage caused to the vital infrastructure of the Persian Gulf countries during the recent imposed Zionist-American war that began on March 30, the former CENTCOM commander stated: There has been significant damage to the infrastructure of the Gulf countries, and we certainly don’t want to see any more damage. I think both sides are really clearly seeking an agreement.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is trying to hold a second round of talks in a situation where the US has violated the terms of the ceasefire in the Ramadan War by blockaded Iranian ports, and Iranian officials have announced that, in light of the other side’s threats and breach of promise, it currently has no plans to participate in the next round of talks.

The conditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz was part of the ceasefire conditions in the war, which was restored due to the blockade of Iranian ports by the United States following the failure of the first round of negotiations on April 13, and the passage of all military ships and ships associated with the American-Zionist enemy through this waterway was prohibited. Also, according to Iran’s previous announcement, the passage of all commercial ships of other countries through this route is subject to full coordination with Iranian authorities.
