Congressman: Democratic elites do not want Kamala Harris to run

PNN – Democratic member of the US House of Representatives said: Democratic “elites” who are trying to pressure Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 election race are “not interested” in nominating Kamala Harris as a replacement candidate.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Hill’s website wrote: Alexander Ocasio-Cortez said in a live chat on Instagram that if you think there is agreement among those calling for Biden to step down to support his running mate, Harris, you’re wrong. They are not supposed to be completely honest but I am honest with them.

This Democratic member of Congress also stated: I am present in the chat rooms and I witness what they say. I will tell you that a large number of funders and many of the same elites and many people who are involved in these conversations and are pressuring Biden to withdraw from the Democratic Party nomination do not want Harris to be the nominee.

Kurtz has remained one of Biden’s key allies since Biden’s disastrous debate last month, in which he stuttered and slipped repeatedly and fueled internal disputes over his candidacy.

Concerns about Biden’s age and intelligence have increased the number of Democrats who want him to withdraw from the election.

Before Kurtz’s statement, former US President Donald Trump officially accepted the party’s nomination during a speech at the Republican National Convention.

This Democratic representative said that many say that President Biden is old, Trump is also old, and in addition, he is a racist and a neo-Nazi. Many do not want the competition between these two to repeat.

He also warned of logistical concerns about efforts to replace Biden, saying Republicans intend to mount legal challenges if Democrats choose another candidate.

About 30 Democrats in the Congress, including three senators, have pressured Biden to withdraw from the competition and demand the introduction of a candidate to replace him. Since Wednesday, former US President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have expressed concern in secret meetings about Biden’s ability to defeat Trump in the November election and the consequences of this possible defeat.

Ocasio, who is also a member of the so-called “squad” (left wing) group in the US House of Representatives, also criticized the “elites” who in the past supported Biden and refused to discuss his replacement in the early stages of the nomination process.

The Democrat from New York repeated his previous criticism of members of the Democratic Party, saying they had leaked intraparty differences over Biden’s resignation to the media in recent weeks.

Despite increasing calls for Biden to withdraw from the election race, he said in a statement released by his campaign team that he plans to resume his campaign next week.
