PNN – Stating that the Zionist regime seeks to undermine the peace process and destabilize Syria and Gaza, the Turkish Foreign Minister said: The security and stability of Syria are directly linked to Turkey’s internal security.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan described the Zionist regime’s attacks on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as one of the most serious threats to the country’s stability and called for a stronger response from the international community.
He emphasized that pressure must be exerted on Israel to implement the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement and to respect Syria’s sovereignty.
Fidan also stated that the Zionist regime intends to undermine peace efforts, separate the Palestinians from Gaza, and—if possible—transform Gaza into a territory devoid of Palestinians; however, he asserted that Benjamin Netanyahu would not succeed in this policy, and that the people of Gaza would continue to live on their land and build their future there.
Referring to developments in Syria, the Turkish Foreign Minister remarked that the more secure and prosperous Damascus, Aleppo, and Hama become, the more quickly the impact will be felt in the cities of Gaziantep, Mersin, and Istanbul.
He added that any destabilizing activity in Syria poses a threat to Turkey’s internal security; consequently, cooperation in the areas of counter-terrorism, defense, and security will be deepened.
He also expressed hope that the remaining issues regarding the Strait of Hormuz would be resolved.
