Free Palestinian women’s accounts of torture in Israeli prisons.

According to Al Jazeera, the Palestinian prisoners who were released as part of the first phase of the prisoner exchange between Hamas and the Israeli regime, told their stories about themselves and the torture they faced in Israeli prisons moments after arriving home.

Adam Hadra, a Palestinian prisoner, described his time in captivity as very difficult and pointed to some of the inhumane behavior of the prison guards, including medical negligence and deprivation of medication, especially for the elderly.

Samah Jahawi, another Palestinian female prisoner who was released last night, stated that this was the second time she had been arrested and was subjected to various types of torture and repression.

She continued that many Palestinian female prisoners are in critical conditions in Israeli prisons as a result of illness and medical neglect.

Shaima Ramadan, another Palestinian female prisoner who has spent 6 months in an Israeli prison, said that a decision had not yet been made about the length of her sentence. He says that he learned that he was on the list of the first phase of Palestinian prisoners exchanged just a few hours before his release.

The sister of the released Palestinian prisoner, Rula Hassanin, told Al Jazeera that her sister is facing extreme fatigue and stress from prison and needs to be transferred to the hospital for treatment, as she has not received any medical attention in prison, which has harmed her health.
