Russia: The West ignores the humanitarian needs of Syria

Pak Sahafat – The deputy representative of Russia in the United Nations said that Western countries are ignoring the basic needs of Syria so that they can still attract arms aid to Ukraine.

According to Pak Sahafat International News Agency, “Dmitry Polyansky”, Russia’s deputy representative to the United Nations, said that despite repeated claims, Western countries continue to ignore the basic needs of Syria.

During a speech at the UN Security Council meeting, Polyansky described the reason for the West’s neglect of Syria’s humanitarian needs, diverting attention to Ukraine and attracting more military aid to Kiev for the war against Russia.

According to “Sputnik” news agency, he explained about this: “We consider the fact that the UN humanitarian program for Syria has been financed for less than 30 percent of the projected budget this year, an indication of the critical situation [of the West’s approach].”

The Russian diplomat continued: “It is obvious that Syria, along with a number of other countries in need, will be severely discriminated against by Western donor countries because they exclusively support the delivery of arms to Ukraine.”

Earlier, a well-informed source told the Russian channel “Ryanovsky” that the United States threatened the Arab countries that they should not help rebuild Syria or provide financial support to the government of this country.
