PNN – Amid growing security concerns regarding the threat posed by drones, the Zionist regime is considering a six-month ban on the operation of personal drones.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; citing Palestinian media, security agencies of the Zionist regime are considering stricter limitations on the use of drones as security concerns mount in the occupied territories over their proliferation. These concerns follow warnings regarding the potential use of drones to carry out attacks or assassination operations.
In this context, the regime’s security-political cabinet has approved a six-month ban on the use of personal drones, while deliberations regarding implementation mechanisms and potential exceptions to the decision are ongoing.
According to the report, Israel Katz, the Israeli regime’s Minister of War, held an emergency meeting yesterday to assess the drone threat in the occupied territories and the implications of a recent cabinet decision.
The Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom reported that the meeting examined strategies for implementing this decision, as well as its far-reaching consequences for settlers and the drone industry. While security agencies are calling for a complete halt to the operation of private drones, alternative options are also being considered.
The Israeli regime’s Ministry of War is also seeking to formulate an urgent, comprehensive plan to establish operational capabilities to counter this threat. This initiative is proceeding alongside the finalization of implementation mechanisms and the drafting of new regulations governing drone usage.
According to the report, certain security agencies of the Zionist regime are calling for a total ban on the operation of personal drones across the occupied territories; however, implementing such a decision would have far-reaching consequences for settlers and companies operating within the drone industry.
Under the proposed plan, individuals who operate personal drones would initially face financial penalties, while subsequent violations could be classified as criminal offenses.
These restrictions would remain in effect until new regulations are drafted and implemented—regulations that would specify the entities authorized to use drones and the zones where their operation is permitted.
The Zionist regime claims that drones have become an escalating threat due to their ease of access, simplicity of operation, and versatility of use.
The regime’s internal security agency (Shin Bet) has justified these restrictions by citing concerns that drones could be used to carry out assassination attempts against officials and public figures—particularly during the regime’s general election campaigns.
Meanwhile, the regime’s security agencies have also linked these measures to threats attributed to Iran against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu.
However, a final decision regarding the implementation of the ban on personal drones has not yet been reached, as there is a difference of opinion between security agencies calling for a total ban and the need to continue using drones in the civilian, commercial, and industrial sectors.
