PNN – The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. aviation safety officials are investigating an incident that occurred on Tuesday involving the helicopter carrying the U.S. President.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reported that U.S. federal aviation officials are investigating an air traffic safety incident involving a military helicopter carrying President Donald Trump that took place on Tuesday.
The Wall Street Journal reported that “Marine One,” the helicopter carrying the U.S. President, took off from the White House on Tuesday afternoon (Eastern Time); however, air traffic controllers had failed to halt commercial flights at the nearby Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, as required by safety protocols.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration told The Wall Street Journal that, under federal regulations, “Marine One”—carrying President Trump—and a departing commercial aircraft did not appear to have come dangerously close to one another, nor did their flight paths create a risk of collision; therefore, the incident is not classified as a “near-miss.”
U.S. media had previously reported that a suspicious armed individual was detained at President Donald Trump’s golf course in California.
US media reported on Tuesday evening (local time) that a 38-year-old man named Janin John Thiele was arrested at Donald Trump’s golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, prior to the former president’s arrival.
Fox News reported that officials announced the arrest of the armed suspect—identified as 38-year-old Janin John Thiele—at the Trump golf course, noting that he had been monitoring security measures and preparations ahead of Trump’s visit.
