The return of the Phalanges with Israeli tanks; what does the Zionist fifth column want in Lebanon?

The return of the Phalanges with Israeli tanks; what does the Zionist fifth column want in Lebanon?

To understand the socio-political atmosphere of these days of the “Bride of the Middle East”, we must refer to the famous proverb “In hardships, brothers are recognized”. While the Lebanese government and people, as a genuine nation with twin roots, are struggling and resisting the last legacy of the colonial era in the Eastern Mediterranean region, the “Lebanese Forces” movement, led by Samir Geagea, is repeating the experiences of the civil wars.

While the Phalanges and their then leader Bashir Gemayel, riding on the tanks of the occupiers, were dreaming of sovereignty in Lebanon, the free Lebanese people, led by the Shiites, turned Beirut into a graveyard for the American, French, Israeli occupiers and, of course, traitors to the homeland. Now, after four decades of those days of ups and downs, the young people with little experience in resistance have become the wise leaders of the largest resistance group in the Islamic world, Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Traitors to the homeland, however, are spreading rumors in a corner of the Lebanese political space against the Arab-Islamic pride and honor of the Lebanese people. The recent movements of Samir Geagea and his supporters have reinforced the suspicion in the minds of analysts that they intend to once again beat the drum of hypocrisy by abusing Lebanon’s internal space.

“Lebanese Forces” the Voice of the Zionists

These days, in the streets of Lebanon, Samir Geagea’s infantry forces are putting up placards and posters with the theme “So that the past does not repeat itself” and the hashtag #Lebanon_does_not_want_war! Interestingly, and perhaps surprisingly, the slogan of the Lebanese nation and the resistance forces is the same! The Lebanese people, having learned from the bitter experiences of the past, have a strong historical memory and still have the memory of the presence of the occupiers in Beirut in their minds. At that time, the Kataeb military force, instead of serving the “independence” and “dignity” of Lebanon, had become the infantry of the Zionist regime and the United States in Lebanon. Rereading this historical experience requires the Lebanese people and Hezbollah to be vigilant about Geagea’s sinister plans and reject his seditions.

In recent days, Hebrew media outlets such as Yedioth Aharonot reported Netanyahu’s initial response to the proposal proposed by Amos Hochstein, the US special representative for Lebanon. Previously, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Hezbollah, taking into account the interests of Lebanon and the resistance, had accepted the ceasefire proposal conditional on the removal of the clause “Israel’s freedom of action in Lebanon.” In a situation where the so-called “ball is in the ground” of the Israelis, Tel Aviv hopes to be able to prevent the establishment of peace on the northern borders with the help of its “fifth column” in Lebanon.

A Treacherous Record

Although Lebanon is a newly established country in the Levant region, formed based on a plurality of sects and a plurality of different political groups, there has always been a kind of ethnic spirit among them, relying on the two principles of “Arabism” and “confronting the Zionist regime.” However, the Phalanges (not the Maronite brothers and sisters) have always stood in the dark part of history and tried to implement the plans of the Western colonialists and Israel in this land.

Will Samir Geagea spark a civil war in Lebanon?

Like the Zionists, the Phalanges, instead of returning to the humane teachings of the Abrahamic religions, based their ideology on a kind of extremist sectarianism that merely sought to lead Christians in the political life of Lebanon. They had no “red lines” on this path and ruthlessly eliminated all their opponents. Although the history of this group dates back to the early years of Lebanon’s formation, its most important external manifestation was the establishment of the Kataeb party by Bashir Jamil.

In order to be elected as the powerful and lifelong president of Lebanon, Jamil, hand in hand with Zionism, took military action against the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and was one of the effective factors in the process of forced migration of Palestinian mujahideen from Lebanon. By taking action against the PLO, this fascist group not only laid the foundation stone for the civil war in Lebanon but also showed by launching the brutal massacre in the Sabra and Shatila camps that it was no different in terms of worldview and political ideology from Ariel Sharon and the criminal gang ruling Tel Aviv.
