PNN – The diplomatic advisor to the UAE President has responded to Algeria’s announcement regarding the severance of diplomatic relations.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Sputnik; Anwar Gargash—the diplomatic advisor to the UAE President—emphasized the necessity of transparency regarding interests in relations between nations. This marked Abu Dhabi’s first official response following Algeria’s announcement.

On Thursday, Gargash stated on the social media platform X that diplomatic relations should be managed with “reason, communication, and clarity of interests,” rather than ambiguity and vague messages. He stressed that successful diplomacy relies on transparent positions and the proper management of interests and differences.

Gargash asserted that diplomatic relations should not be held hostage by domestic tensions or an inability to articulate interests and set priorities. Ambiguity is not a policy, and clamor cannot substitute for a lack of vision.

These remarks followed Algeria’s announcement on Thursday that all efforts to maintain bilateral relations with the UAE had failed, leading to a decision to sever diplomatic ties.

The Algerian Foreign Ministry accused the UAE of engaging in provocative and hostile actions, stating that despite repeated warnings, these activities had persisted and reached an unacceptable level.

Algeria also summoned the UAE ambassador to the Foreign Ministry, formally conveyed the decision to sever relations, and gave him 48 hours to implement the decision.
