Trump claims to be “leading the war” in long post

long post

PNN – For the umpteenth time in recent days, the US President has attacked media outlets critical of his policies in the war with Iran, in a long post claiming that he is winning the war in Iran “by a wide margin.”

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; US President Donald Trump once again claimed on the social media platform Truth Social that he is winning the war against Iran by a wide margin.

In this lengthy post, Trump praised the performance of the US armed forces and harshly attacked media outlets such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, calling them fake news.

The US president, who has come under intense pressure for starting a pointless war, has claimed that “the enemy is confused because the Iranian navy has been completely destroyed, the Iranian air force has taken refuge in dark runways, Iran has no anti-missile or anti-aircraft equipment, most of Iran’s former leaders are gone, and what is happening is regime change.”

Trump reiterated that the naval blockade of Iran will not be lifted until a deal is reached.

He claims that the blockade is absolutely destroying Iran and that Iran is losing $500 million a day, a figure that is unbearable even in the short term. He has been forced to repeatedly emphasize that he has won the war, especially in recent weeks when criticism of his performance in the war has been fiercely criticized.

Unfulfilled promises

The comments come as Trump faces mounting criticism at home over his handling of the war, broken promises and soaring fuel prices. The war with Iran, which began on February 28 with coordinated US-Israeli strikes, is now in its third month, despite Trump’s initial promise to end it within four to six weeks. The two-week ceasefire announced by Trump on April 7 is set to expire in a few hours, with no clear prospects for an extension.

Trump had announced five specific goals at the beginning of the war with Iran. He said he intended to destroy Iran’s missiles and missile industry, dismantle Iran’s navy, cut off Tehran’s regional allies, prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, and create the conditions for regime change.

However, after 50 days of war, analysts in the United States say that despite inflicting tactical blows and losses, the United States and Israel have failed to achieve their strategic goals. Iran still controls the Strait of Hormuz, its nuclear program is intact, and the regime has not only not fallen but has strengthened its position.

Perhaps Trump’s most significant domestic challenge is the unprecedented rise in fuel prices. The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the United States has reached $4.04, up from $3.15 a gallon in the same period last year. This is while before the war, gasoline prices in some states had fallen to less than $3, and Republicans have been touting it as an economic achievement of Trump.

With the November midterm elections looming, Republicans who promised to lower the cost of living are now facing the reality of high prices and inflation. An NBC News poll shows that nearly two-thirds of Americans say rising fuel costs are a problem for their households, and only 32 percent are satisfied with Trump’s performance in curbing inflation.
