PNN – Diplomatic sources told the Al-Mayadeen network that a new “top-secret” report indicates an intensifying trend of undermining the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; diplomatic sources informed Al-Mayadeen that a new “top-secret” report points to an escalating process of weakening the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
The report was prepared by the U.S. House Committees on Homeland Security and National Security and notes the dismissal of a significant number of officials and experts from the ODNI—including specialists focused on Russia, China, and the European Union.
Diplomatic sources have also reported the potential dismissal of approximately 400 additional employees from the office—a move that could extend to staff at the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center.
According to these sources, the changes are not limited to personnel structure; intelligence reports and analyses regarding the conflict with Iran have also been altered—adjustments made in line with the demands of U.S. President Donald Trump.
These developments come after the staff at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) had already been reduced from approximately 2,000 to nearly 1,300 during Tulsi Gabbard’s tenure.
Critics of the Trump administration in Congress believe these changes are intended to sideline the President’s detractors—particularly those holding views that differ from the administration’s stance on Russia and Iran.
Diplomatic sources have emphasized that the continuation of this trend could impact the ODNI’s analytical and intelligence capabilities, as well as the manner in which intelligence assessments are presented to the White House.
