PNN – The New York Times reported that Donald Trump’s plan to increase the country’s military weapons production faces several obstacles, including financial problems and lack of support from Congress, and will not work for several years.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the American newspaper The New York Times wrote in a report that US President Donald Trump’s plan to increase the country’s weapons production faces financial problems and lack of sufficient support from Congress, and may delay the provision of necessary weapons for possible future wars.

The American newspaper New York Times reported that Donald Trump’s plans to increase weapons production are facing numerous obstacles, despite announcing initial agreements with defense companies, while the production of American systems and missiles is considered “vital” in any possible war with China, Russia or North Korea.

According to the report, Trump and his Secretary of War Pete Hegsett have concluded initial agreements with defense companies in recent months to expand production of Patriot air defense systems, Tomahawk cruise missiles and other needed weapons.

The US government has failed to secure sufficient funding or congressional support to secure the weapons it needs for potential future wars.

The report adds that the US defense industry has announced ambitious plans to increase production of munitions and interceptor missiles, but much of this expanded production will not begin for several years.

The Iran war has led to a significant reduction in the US military’s global stockpile of ammunition, while the Pentagon has expanded its shipments of bombs, missiles and other military equipment to the Middle East, reducing America’s readiness to confront other adversaries.

The Pentagon received $825 billion from Congress last year, in addition to a $150 billion surplus allocated to the military industry. However, the fate of Trump’s request for a $1.45 trillion defense budget for this year remains uncertain.

The report noted that American officials have reported the impact of the reduction in American weapons on the process of sending military supplies and supplies to several European and Asian countries.
