PNN – The United Nations has welcomed the decision by 12 countries to restrict trade with the illegal settlements of the Zionist regime.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the UN human rights office welcomed the move by 12 nations to limit trade with the illegal settlements of the Israeli regime.
The office described this decision as a step toward ending the violence and the occupation of the West Bank.
A spokesperson for the office emphasized that the deteriorating situation in the West Bank requires urgent action, noting that these steps align with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ call to end the occupation.
Previously, media outlets reported that a group of European and Western nations had decided to take punitive measures against the Zionist regime.
Following the UK’s lead, eleven other countries—including France, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden—banned the import of and trade in goods produced in Zionist settlements in the West Bank.
A statement issued by these countries reads: We intend to impose restrictions on trade in goods originating from settlements that are considered illegal under international law.
