PNN – An American analyst emphasized that even with a license to produce Patriot missiles, Ukraine would need years to achieve mass production, and this move would not help on the battlefield in the short term.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Kavanaugh, the director of military analysis at the think tank, told reporters: This is a long-term project that will have no impact on the current conflict and will not meet Ukraine’s short-term needs.
He added: Even after receiving authorization to produce Patriot missiles, Ukraine would need several years to launch mass production, as it must resolve legal issues and establish the necessary manufacturing capabilities and supply chains.
U.S. President Donald Trump had previously announced that Washington would grant Ukraine authorization to produce Patriot air defense systems.
During a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ankara, the U.S. President announced that the United States would grant Ukraine a license to produce Patriot air defense systems.
Addressing Zelenskyy during the meeting, Trump said: One of the topics we will discuss is granting you the license to produce Patriot systems. That’s very interesting, isn’t it? That way, he can no longer complain that we aren’t providing him with enough Patriot systems.
The Patriot system (MIM-104 Patriot) is a mobile surface-to-air missile system designed to detect, intercept, and destroy a wide range of aerial threats, including aircraft, drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.
