PNN – Robert Woodward, a well-known American journalist, in a book titled “War”, which is to be published soon, described the complicated and tense relations between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, especially after the start of the war in Gaza.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the New York Times newspaper, this book, which is scheduled to be published next week, shows how disappointed Biden is with Netanyahu after the start of the war in Gaza and the death of more than 42,000 Palestinians.
According to Woodward, Biden has always had a long and complicated relationship with Netanyahu, but this situation became tense after the October 7 attacks led by Hamas: Although Biden apparently and in the face of global criticism, expressed his strong support for Israel and declared that Tel Aviv has the right to defend itself, he also openly expressed his disappointment with Netanyahu. At the same time, the reports indicate that he has shown much stronger and sometimes insulting reactions to Israel’s actions in private conversations.

In his book, Woodward provides more details from inside the president’s room and direct quotes from Biden speaking to his staff or to the Israeli prime minister; including a phone call by the President of the United States in April, when he questioned Netanyahu’s behavior in the war and asked him: Man! What is your strategy?
According to Woodward’s notes, the call came at a time when Israel’s prime minister was pushing for military forces to enter southern Gaza in the southern city of Rafah. According to the quote in the war book: After Netanyahu’s justifications, Biden said to him: “You have no strategy.”
The New York Times further recalls that month after this call, in May, Biden stopped a shipment of 3,500 bombs to Israel due to concerns about their use in the Rafah operation and excessive civilian casualties. But Netanyahu finally entered Rafah, and after this situation, Biden told his advisers that Netanyahu was a “liar” and after swearing, he added: “Out of the 19 people who work for him, 18 are liars.”
After this attack, Biden questioned Netanyahu’s motives for attacking Rafah and said: “By doing this, he is not cursing Hamas, but cursing himself.” However, according to Woodward’s writing, the President of the United States has used a word other than curse.
