Why does “Biden” criticize “Netanyahu’s” policies in the Gaza war?

Almost 190 days have passed since the war of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip, the army of this regime is still bombing civilian women and children in the Gaza Strip with the support of its Western allies, especially the United States. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, during this organized genocide, more than 33,000 people were martyred and 76,000 people were injured. Unfortunately, apart from the statistics announced by Palestinian sources, a large number of Palestinian citizens remain under the rubble or there is no accurate information about their fate.

According to UNRWA, almost all the residents of this strip are suffering from a hunger crisis and lack of basic health facilities. The aggressive and inhumane policy of the Israeli army has caused not only the responsible members of the international community but also Tel Aviv’s allies to talk about revising the relations with the Zionist regime and even imposing an arms-financial embargo on this regime.

But in practice, the traditional policy of stable support for Israel will continue. Accordingly, in the continuation of this note, we will try to answer the key question, why has Biden adopted a dual policy towards the genocide of the Zionists in the occupied territories?

Washington; The biggest financial sponsor of the Zionist regime

In the new American foreign policy doctrine, the Zionist regime is one of the pillars of changing Washington’s policy in the Indo-Pacific region and redefining the order of the West Asian region. In other words, before increasing the concentration of its forces in the Southeast Asian region, especially the South China Sea, Washington intends to continue to secure its interests in the Middle East through the integration of Israel in the Arab Middle East (Tel Aviv-Riyadh peace) and allow the creation of a vacuum. Do not give power in this area. In such a situation, the occurrence of the lightning operation of the Al-Aqsa storm on October 7, 2023 caused the postponement of Washington’s plans in the region, and as a result, America’s biggest ally was caught in a war of attrition.

US President Joe Biden, who always tried to show himself in the media as a critic of Netanyahu’s policies regarding the judicial reform plan in occupied Palestine, only hours after Hamas and the Palestinian resistance attacked the surrounding area of the Gaza Strip, he went to the Shamat area and While meeting with the Zionist leaders, he promised to support Tel Aviv in the path of the military attack on Gaza and the destruction of the Hamas movement.

Only one week after the October 7th attack, the US Army, on the order of Lloyd Austin, the US Secretary of Defense, sent two aircraft carriers and a large number of F-15, F-16 and A-10 fighters to the Eastern Mediterranean and the CENTCOM base in West Asia. did At that time, the American officials clearly stated that the purpose of this action is to send a message to Iran and the members of the resistance axis to refrain from attacking the interests of the Zionist regime on different fronts.

According to the Washington Post magazine, since March 7, 2024, more than 100 American flights have sent all kinds of military aid and deadly ammunition such as guided bombs to occupied Palestine. In the financial support section, just minutes after the news of the operation of the Ezzedine al-Qassam battalions, the American government announced the allocation of 2 billion dollars in immediate aid to Israel. A little later, the US Congress announced the promotion of a $106 billion plan for Washington’s allies in different parts of the world, of which $14 billion was allocated to Tel Aviv.

Despite the positive vote of the Senate, the US House of Representatives still did not reach a final conclusion for the approval of this plan due to the difference between the “Wilson” and “Jackson” factions. Some analysts believe that one of the reasons for the escalation of tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv is Netanyahu’s plan to get the financial support of the US House of Representatives. The field of diplomacy and other political consultations was the field of US support for Israel in the region. On this front, Washington prevented the increase of international pressure on Tel Aviv by vetoing Security Council resolutions at least five times and provided the ground for the Israeli war machine to kill the defenseless people of Gaza.

Why has Biden opened his mouth to criticize Netanyahu?

According to Deutsche Welle, in an interview with “Univision” TV channel, Joe Biden criticized Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies in the Gaza war and said that he does not agree with them. He went on to emphasize that his demands from the Israeli side are that a ceasefire be established in Gaza and that food and medicine be allowed to be sent to this area (within the next six or seven weeks).

Referring to the attack of the Zionist army on the humanitarian aid convoy, the democratic president of the United States called it a “heinous act”. During this terrorist attack, the Israeli army targeted seven aid workers of the “Global Central Kitchen” without paying attention to the protocols for protecting civilians. Despite Biden’s critical tone towards Tel Aviv’s aggressive actions and his request for a unilateral ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, an informed official in the White House told The Times of Israel that Biden’s words did not mean a change in the White House’s policies towards the Gaza war, but a repetition. The former policy of the United States is towards the humanitarian crisis in this region.

It seems that Joe Biden has no choice but to take a harsh and critical position against Netanyahu and show support for civilians in Gaza to win the trust of Arab American voters, progressive forces, leftists, and finally the youth. As the Biden-Trump election competition to reach the presidential seat in November 2024 becomes more serious, some events and indicators can affect the opinion and will of American voters.
