PNN – The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the failure of Saudi-backed mercenaries in their attempt to seize Bab al-Mandab.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, stated that a large-scale operation by Saudi-backed mercenary forces to advance toward Bab al-Mandab was met with a decisive response and robust defense from Yemeni forces, resulting in the operation’s repulse.
He emphasized that the movements of the aggressor forces along this strategic axis failed to achieve any gains on the ground and forced them to retreat.
Saree added that this defeat demonstrates the Saudis’ inability to alter the military balance in sensitive areas controlled by the Yemeni Armed Forces.
66 New Saudi Airstrikes on Yemeni Residential Areas in the Past 24 Hours
The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces also announced that Saudi Arabia had carried out 66 airstrikes on the country’s residential areas over the past 24 hours.
He stated that Saudi F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets, taking off from the Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases, bombed civilian infrastructure in the provinces of Al-Jawf, Taiz, Ma’rib, Al-Hudaydah, Hajjah, and Sa’dah.
According to Saree, a number of civilians—particularly women and children—were killed or wounded in these attacks.
Including the recent strikes, the total number of Saudi air and missile attacks since the start of the new round of hostilities has reached 1,642.
The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces previously announced an attack on gatherings of Saudi-backed mercenaries in a district of Yemen’s Taiz province.
Yahya Saree stated that Yemeni armed forces stationed southwest of the Al-Wazi’iyah district in Taiz province halted the mercenaries’ advance in the area by attacking their gatherings.
He added that during the clash, a number of the mercenaries’ vehicles and armored units were destroyed, and dozens of individuals were killed or wounded.
According to Saree, gatherings of forces supporting these mercenaries were also targeted by several ballistic missiles, resulting in casualties.
