PNN – In a sarcastic response to his American counterpart’s announcement of an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian president said: If Trump has held talks with Putin, please let us know when the ceasefire begins.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al Jazeera; the Ukrainian president reacted sarcastically to the US president’s announcement of an energy-sector ceasefire between his country and Russia.
Following Donald Trump’s announcement, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated: If Trump has negotiated with Putin, please inform us of the start time for the energy ceasefire, and we would welcome it.
Axios also reported, citing Zelensky, that Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire came as news to him, but that Ukraine would agree to it if Russia also consented to a ceasefire regarding the energy sector.
The Ukrainian president had previously stated that Kyiv was prepared to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries, provided that Moscow also stopped targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed today that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a ceasefire regarding attacks on energy facilities and that the truce takes effect immediately.
