Hebrew media: A new regional order is taking shape in favor of Iran

PNN – A Hebrew-language media outlet has revealed the emergence of a new regional order as one of the results of the war against Iran.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Israeli Channel 12 television channel, in an article published on the website of the outlet, referring to reports on the recent visit of the Emirati delegation to Iran, stated: Even before the end of the war, we can announce that we are witnessing the emergence of a new order in the region in favor of Iran.

According to the author of this article, the meetings of high-ranking officials of the United Arab Emirates and Iran are the first signs of the formation of a new regional order for the post-war period.

Although these meetings cannot be considered an interpretation of a radical change in relations between the two sides, the mere holding of this meeting indicates the willingness of both sides to return to the dialogue process.

According to the article, it is still too early to declare a full return to the de-escalation that characterized relations between the two sides (Iran and the UAE) in the pre-war years. The current reality is characterized by a higher level of mistrust and strategic uncertainty. Therefore, it seems that the main goal of both sides now is to create mechanisms that will prevent a further deterioration of relations that could harm Abu Dhabi’s economic stability. In other words, this is an attempt to manage the existing competition within the framework of agreed rules that allow both sides to preserve their security interests while minimizing the risk of conflict.

The author, a Middle East expert at the Israeli security think tank INSS at Tel Aviv University, said that this move towards international de-escalation would have broader implications for the entire regional order. In recent years, there has been a tendency among the Gulf States to adopt a more pragmatic and flexible foreign policy.

He added that Israeli officials expressed surprise at Abu Dhabi’s approach to Tehran, adding that the dialogue between Abu Dhabi and Tehran is not simply about managing the consequences of the war. In my view, this is the beginning of a broader process towards a gradual and cautious return to international de-escalation.

The meetings between senior Emirati and Iranian officials reflect a broader trend in the post-war Gulf region, in which dialogue has become a vital tool for managing the new regional order, much to Israel’s dismay. The meetings do not mean the end of their rivalry, but they do confirm, especially for those who thought otherwise, that given the limited options available (and America’s inability to provide security for the Gulf Arab states), the Gulf States prefer to protect themselves from potential threats in other ways.
