Trump: I’m upset with Netanyahu’s constant fighting with Lebanon/I’d like to meet with Iran’s new leadership

Lebanon

PNN – The US President confirmed that in a recent phone call with the Israeli Prime Minister, he strongly criticized the continued attacks on Lebanon, saying that these attacks were endangering the process of negotiations with Iran.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, US President Donald Trump confirmed in an exclusive interview with the podcast “Pod Force One” that he called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “crazy” in a phone call on Monday.

Explaining the reason for his anger, Trump said: I was a little upset with his constant fighting with Lebanon.

According to the US President, the Israeli regime’s attacks on Lebanon have jeopardized peace talks between Washington and Tehran, as Iran insists that the regime’s attacks on Hezbollah must stop in order to reach an agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz and then address the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.

The US President, citing his concerns about the impact of the Lebanese conflict on the negotiations, expressed hope that an agreement with Iran could be reached “relatively quickly.”

It is worth noting that the American media outlet Axios reported on Monday evening that the US President had stopped the Israeli Prime Minister’s plan to bomb targets in Beirut after Iran warned him.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran had previously issued a statement stating: Despite the US’s declared efforts in the first days after the ceasefire to force the Zionist regime to stop its aggression against Lebanon, the direct responsibility of the US, both in the violation of the ceasefire against Iran and in the violation of the ceasefire by the Israeli regime against Lebanon, is evident, and the responsibility for the effects and consequences of this situation lies with the US.

In another part of the interview, Trump said that Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the new leader of Iran, is fully involved in decisions related to ending the war. He said: He is definitely involved in these decisions and there is a lot of respect for him (in Iran).

The US President also announced his desire to meet with Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, and in response to the question of whether he would like to meet with him or any Iranian in person, he said: I honestly hadn’t thought about it before. That’s a very good question. I’ll think about it. Yes, I’d like to meet him. I’d like to meet everyone. We’ll probably meet at some point; it depends on how things go.

Trump also defended his approach to establishing direct communication with America’s rivals, saying: Face-to-face talks can lead to building relationships that ultimately bring greater security to America.

Since Donald Trump took office in his second term and especially after the start of the war with Iran in March 2015, this is the first time he has spoken politely about the Iranian leadership.

It is worth noting that public opinion in Iran and around the world has recognized the US president as a contradictory and unbalanced person in the political and global arena.
