PNN – Over the past week, developments have taken place in northern Syria and instability in this country has reached its peak after several years, in which Türkiye played a role.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, during the past week, the situation in the north of Syria has completely changed and left its many years of stability. The strategic city of Aleppo was reoccupied in a sudden and massive attack by the armed terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham and the forces known as the Free Syrian Army, which are under the control of Türkiye.
Many speculations and analyzes have been published about the time and type of operation and participating forces, which; “Which countries benefit and which countries are behind it”. The United States, the Zionist regime, and Türkiye are among the parties that benefit from this change of situation, and each of them looks at it according to their own interests.
There is no doubt that a large part of this operation was carried out with the help or at least the knowledge of the Turkish government, and there are many signs in this regard.
Türkiye has many interests in the current situation, one of which is the historical claim on Aleppo, and with its occupation by the armed conflict, this influence will be realized.

At the moment, Türkiye considers itself to have the upper hand in the situation in Syria, but there are several important points in this regard that must be addressed;
1- Although Turkey has interests in the current situation, the issue of Syria is not limited to the region and has international dimensions, on this basis, Turkey willingly or unwillingly plays in the American-Israeli plan, which aims to weaken Bashar al-Assad’s government and bring Syria into the process of new instability. With this action, Ankara has reduced itself to the level of a proxy country or an executor of the plans of the US and the Israeli regime, and has distanced itself from being an independent and influential actor in the region.
2- This action, which is carried out at the time of the resistance front’s conflict with the Israeli regime and the West, will cause a blow to the flow of resistance, including Syria and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and ultimately the Palestinian resistance, which will also be considered a dark spot for Erdogan and the trust of the Islamic Republic of Iran will reduce him. This will be detrimental to Erdogan in the long run. Erdogan should not forget that he has experienced periods such as the threat of a coup d’état or acceptance of defeat in Syria and acceptance by Iran and Russia, which may happen again in the future, and in those moments he will need more trust and help from his neighbors.
3- The departure of the terrorists from Idlib and their spread in northern Syria will lead to their strengthening, and this “giant out of the glass” may also leave the hands of its supporters and lead to a threat to them. The terrorist seeks terror and insecurity based on his washed-up mentality, and based on this, he may be in Syria today and commit terror, suicide and instability in another country tomorrow. There is no guarantee that the terrorists will remain confined to their region and have no expansionist intentions, this issue will be more sensitive for Ankara considering the 910 km border between Turkey and Syria.
4- A large part of Türkiye’s economy relies on tourism. If some of these terrorists follow other plans and intend to disturb the neighboring countries, the country whose income is based on tourists and tourism will be hit the hardest. Although all countries in the region need stability and peace to grow, some countries should be more sensitive to this issue.
5- The Syrian government has good relations with the Kurds of the region and at the present time a part of northern Syria has been given to the Kurds with the coordination of Damascus so that it can focus on terrorists; this has caused Damascus to influence Kurds. Kurds have had many problems with the Turkish government for historical reasons. They also have enough motivation to fight the Turkish army.
The things mentioned above are among the issues that the Turkish government should pay attention to so that the countries of the region can create stability and security for the region together.
