The war in Gaza and the dark horizon of normalization gambling

PNN – The Al-Aqsa storm operation and the Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza, which have so far left more than 10,000 martyrs, have undergone major changes in regional equations, and the question comes to mind that the dream of Tel Aviv leaders to normalize relations with Arab countries under the title of “Abraham Pact” What will happen to him?

The Abraham Pact and the issue of the normalization of relations between the Zionist regime and the Arab countries have once again received attention due to the regime’s crimes and genocide in Gaza in the last month. The agreement was initiated in 2020 under the management of former US President Donald Trump, and in the first phase, the UAE and Bahrain, and then Sudan and Morocco, took steps to normalize relations.

Of course, Egypt and Jordan had made their relations with the Zionist regime public in 1979 and 1994, respectively, and Trump also sought to expand it. The photo of the Abraham Accords signing ceremony at the White House, which took place on September 15, 2020, has not yet been erased from the minds of the people of the region and the world.

Al-Aqsa storm and the dark horizon of Abraham’s covenant

The Al-Aqsa storm operation and the crimes of the Zionist regime supported by the West in Gaza messed up many regional equations, and although the statesmen of some Arab countries were inclined to join the pact, now even if they want to, they will not be able to normalize relations with the Zionists under public pressure.

Today, not only in Muslim countries, but also in the heart of Europe and America, we are witnessing daily widespread protests against this genocide, and Arab statesmen will lose their legitimacy if they turn their backs on the people’s demands.

This issue of public disgust with the regime and opposition to the normalization of relations, although intensified by the Gaza war, has always been institutionalized in the Arab world. Therefore, the majority of the people of the West Asian region are against any normalization of relations with the occupation regime of Al-Quds and have always declared their opposition to the normalization of relations by holding demonstrations.

According to the results of a survey conducted by the Washington Foundation for American Studies two years after the signing of the Abraham Accords, 71% of Emiratis and 76% of Bahrainis are against the agreement to normalize relations with the occupiers. Also, the results of this survey indicate that 75% of the Saudi people oppose the normalization of relations with the occupation regime of Jerusalem.

Betting on a losing horse

Before the Gaza war, the Zionist regime faced various challenges from inside and outside, which have intensified now. One of these challenges is the regime’s fragile political situation; An issue that has caused 6 cabinets to be moved in the last four years and the average lifespan of each cabinet is not even one year.

In addition to the instability of the cabinet and the political crisis, internal protests in the occupied territories due to Netanyahu’s judicial reforms, reverse immigration and a sharp decrease in investment in the Zionist regime were among the internal components of Israel. The issues that escalated during the Gaza war and will undoubtedly continue in the post-crisis environment.

Looking at the political and field developments of recent years, it is understood that the Abraham Pact gives the Zionist regime an opportunity to increase crimes against Palestine. During the past three years, the Zionist regime has waged at least three wars against the Palestinians, including the Battle of Saif al-Quds in 2021, which lasted for 11 days, the 3-day war in 2022 against the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the current war against the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7.

It was with the understanding of this issue that the supreme leader of the revolution in the meeting with the officials of the system, the ambassadors of the Islamic countries and the guests of the unity conference once again considered the gamble of normalizing the relations with the Zionist regime to be completely harmful and referring to the actions of some Islamic rulers and governments, the normalization was a bet on a losing horse.

Therefore, considering the unilateral benefit of the Hebrew axis from the Abrahamic Pact and the wave of disgust with the regime in the Islamic world due to the genocide and brutal killing of Palestinian children and women in the Gaza Strip, the normalization project, if not buried, but the horizon of its advancement seems darker than ever.
