Death toll from Pakistani airstrike on Afghanistan rises to 50.

According to Sputnik, the acting Afghan Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs announced that more than 50 people were killed and 40 injured in a Pakistani airstrike on Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan.

According to the report, Noorullah Noori also added that Pakistan’s attacks were carried out against “Waziristan” refugees.

“Zabihullah Mujahid”, a spokesman for the Taliban government, also announced late on Tuesday that Pakistan bombed four areas in the “Barmal” district of Paktika province.

He also said that the total number of people killed was 46, most of whom were children and women, and six others were injured.

In a statement on Tuesday night, the Taliban Ministry of Defense called the attacks “barbaric” and an example of “blatant aggression”.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) also called for an investigation into the attack to ensure accountability, prevent recurrence and protect the rights of the victims.

These attacks reflect the escalation of border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which have been on the rise since the Taliban came to power in 2021.
