PNN – Joe Kent warned that if the US fails to control Israel’s behavior, potential negotiations will fail.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Joe Kent, former head of the US National Counterterrorism Center, announced in a message on his personal page that the continuation of some Israeli approaches could prevent an agreement from being reached.
According to him, if the United States cannot control Israel’s behavior, “the negotiations will fail,” and Tel Aviv’s interference in Washington’s decision-making will lead to a deadlock in the talks.
Kent also reported that Israel’s insistence on “zero Iranian enrichment” is deliberately making it difficult to reach an agreement. He suggested that an agreement on a level of enrichment and monitoring mechanisms could be reached to end the crisis, and such an agreement could help open trade routes, including through the Strait of Hormuz.
He further emphasized that achieving a result in the negotiations is only possible when the United States sees Israel “as a second-class partner” in setting its priorities.
