Haaretz: Netanyahu seeks to change the rules of the game in order to win the election

change the rules

PNN – A Zionist media outlet revealed: Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to change the rules of the political game in order to win the Knesset (parliament) elections.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Zionist newspaper Haaretz wrote in a report: With the start of the summer session of the Israeli Knesset (parliament), the ruling coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to change the rules of the political game a few months before the 2026 elections. The most important plans include making the conditions for Arab candidates to participate in the elections more difficult, reducing the budget of new parties, and dividing the powers of the Attorney General.

Haaretz wrote: One of the bills defines support for “terrorist acts” in such a way that even limited statements could disqualify Arab candidates or parties. It would also give the election committee more authority to disqualify without Supreme Court approval. Another proposal, known as the “Bennett Law,” would require leaders of dissolved parties to settle previous debts before receiving funding for a new party, a measure that critics see as targeting Naftali Bennett and Yair Golan.

The Zionist media added: Other proposals include lowering the voting age from 18 to 17, reducing the quorum for entering the Knesset and increasing police powers in cases of “incitement to terrorism.” Critics warn that these changes could undermine the integrity of the elections. There are also discussions about how refugees from northern Israel will vote and the creation of special polling stations.
