Not A Chance In Hell”: Trudeau’s Sharp Retort To Trump’s Idea Of Merging Canada, US

Not A Chance In Hell”: Trudeau’s Sharp Retort To Trump’s Idea Of Merging Canada, US.

According to Hindustan Times, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in a sharp reaction to President-elect Donald Trump’s recent statements against the country, stressed that “(the idea) of annexing Canada to the United States has no chance of success and is impossible.”

US President-elect Donald Trump, who will officially take over the White House on January 20, is making claims to annex new territories to the United States. One of these territories is Canada.

Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie also reacted to Trump’s statements about annexing the country to the United States.

She wrote on her page on the social network X (formerly Twitter): “Trump’s words about turning Canada into the 51st state of the United States show that Trump does not understand what makes Canada a strong country.” Jolie added: “Canada’s economy is strong and we have a strong people. We will never back down in the face of threats.”

Melania Joly’s comments come after Trump recently announced on his social media that Canadians are interested in joining the United States as the 51st state, a claim that Ottawa officials strongly deny.

Trump has also welcomed his attempt to annex Greenland, a territory controlled by Denmark. The US president-elect also wants Washington to control the Panama Canal, a clear violation of Panama’s sovereignty as an independent country.

Following recent tensions in Canada’s ruling party, Justin Trudeau announced at a news conference on Monday that he would resign as leader of the Liberal Party and Prime Minister of Canada, but would remain in power until his successor is chosen.
