Silent march of Parisians for peace.
A week after the march against anti-Semitism in France, a silent “March for Peace” was held in Paris on Sunday, November 19.

Several thousand people, including actresses Isabelle Ajani and Emmanuelle Behr, marched silently in Paris on Sunday behind a large white banner and without any slogans, for peace in West Asia and against hatred.

These two actresses were present at the front of this march, and according to the announcement of the police headquarters, 3,600 people marched from the Jahan Arab Institute Square (Ima) to symbolically reach the Museum of Art and History of Judaism.

Actresses “Julie Gaye”, “Arian Askarid”, singer “Yael Naeem”, journalist “Ler Adler”, director “Yamina Bengigi” and actress “Lubna Azabal” were present next to them.

French Minister of Culture Rima Abdelmalek later joined the demonstrators. Some of them wore white armbands, to stand with those who were present in this civil society movement.

Ms. Abdulmalek said: “This is not a silent march, it is a silent march.”

He noted that the demonstration was prompted by a “powerful text,” referring to a platform signed by nearly 600 artists that calls for “carrying the voice of unity” and not taking sides in the conflict.

Ima president Jack Long also said: “People are here to be comforted. They don’t necessarily think alike. I fully support this demonstration of unity.”

“We have chosen absolute neutrality in response to the noise of weapons, against the clamor of extremism,” said Lubna Azabal, head of the “Another Voice” group.
