PNN – The so-called “Peace Council”—which claimed its mission was to resolve the Gaza crisis—has effectively transformed into a mouthpiece and tool for the Zionists.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the body known as the Peace Council—whose leaders are notorious for serving Zionist interests—announced a roadmap last week to finalize the Gaza ceasefire; however, in recent days, it has significantly shifted its stance, now offering complete and unilateral support for the position of the Zionist regime.
The Peace Council: Paving the Way for Zionist Crimes and Plots
In this context, Nickolay Mladenov—who ostensibly serves as the UN’s high-ranking representative on the Peace Council and has a dark track record of paving the way for Zionist crimes against the Palestinian people—announced last night (Sunday) that Israel would withdraw from the Gaza Strip only if the region were truly disarmed.
Speaking to the Zionist regime’s Channel 12, Mladenov stated that the goal of the roadmap is to ensure the Gaza Strip never again poses a threat to Israel’s security.
He added: This plan rests on three main elements: the complete disarmament of the Gaza Strip, the transfer of sovereign responsibilities in Gaza to the Middle East peace process via a national committee, and the deployment of an international security force to verify the agreement’s implementation.
While the roadmap presented on July 31 stipulated the simultaneous disarmament of Hamas and a phased Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, Mladenov stated that Israel would not be required to carry out any withdrawal until concrete steps were taken on the ground to disarm the group.
The senior official added that if genuine disarmament takes place—meaning weapons are seized from Palestinian groups, stockpiled, and rendered unusable—Israel will withdraw from Gaza. This Israeli withdrawal would proceed “area by area,” with the military pulling back gradually as disarmament is completed in each zone, eventually reaching the perimeter fence surrounding the Gaza Strip.
Continuing his brazen remarks, he stated: In the meantime, Israel can respond immediately to any threat against its forces. If the agreed-upon commitments are not met, or if Hamas elements continue to train or rearm, operations will be halted, and the next phase will not be completed.
Mladenov noted that destroying all tunnels in the Gaza Strip at the current pace could take “more than a decade,” but the council is considering utilizing mechanisms and contractors to accelerate the process. In addition to Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt, this plan enjoys the support of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, other Gulf States, and Morocco.
Earlier on Sunday, Netanyahu formally rejected the 15-point Israeli proposal, conditioning any military withdrawal on the complete disarmament of Hamas.
Consequently, Mladenov has backed away from the roadmap announced on Friday—which envisioned an Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip alongside the simultaneous disarmament of Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups. This marks a setback in the negotiations, particularly as the Hamas delegation left Cairo without any indication of direct talks.
It has become abundantly clear that Mladenov is committed to the directives of the Zionist regime and acts solely with the approval of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the occupying regime. He never deviates from the path charted by Netanyahu and adheres strictly to his instructions.
After five years of wreaking havoc in Palestine—spanning 2015 to 2020—Mladenov has once again stepped onto the stage, backed by the United States and the Zionist regime, to continue the systematic and comprehensive destruction of the Palestinian people and their aspirations, as well as the usurpation of their rights to independence, freedom, and self-determination. The difference this time, however, is that he has exceeded the mandate granted to him by the United Nations and engaged in further acts of interference; he now serves the interests of both the United States and Israel directly, alongside his role within the UN.
